Met Eddie Williams today at the New Brite Plaza DD and we were discussing Joe Maye. Boxer never trained for any fight. And went to jail around 1976-77 for two years, being caught dealing drugs. Eddie, Ike Gatewood, and Joe used to hang out together. Neither man a boxer. Further note: Maye's father, after Joe done the Prison time..was once shot on corner of Capen Street and Garden Street in North End of Hartford; and survived.
