- Won five New Jersey Golden Gloves titles.
- Won the USBA junior lightweight title in 1987.
- Fought Rocky Lockridge for the IBF junior lightweight title in 1988 and lost by a 15-round unanimous decision.
- Career ended when he failed a brain scan in 1988. "I was preparing for a fight in New York when I took an MRI brain scan and it showed I had a cyst liaison on the brain that was benign," Knight said. "The commission doctor, Barry Jordan, said I was born with it."

- Became a trainer after he retired as a boxer. Knight was co-trainer for Lennox Lewis.
