Bernard Murphy of Cambridge who had defeated O'Hara at the Commercial A.C. in Boston recently drowned when he dove from a 60 foot pole at Coleman's Wharf, East Cambridge. He was married about two weeks ago. He dove successfully once and then was knocked unconscious after his second attempt and drowned (Boston Globe, July 28, 1917).
