Born and raised in Minnesota, Brown moved to Los Angeles in 1983 and began working for boxing promoter Dan Goossen shortly thereafter. Goossen passed in September 2014, but was always outspoken on the unique talents Brown brought to his company.

He knows how to satisfy the fans, networks and arenas by giving them a competitive bout while keeping in mind the importance of the fighter’s further development toward the big time. Those are very thin lines that only the best can walk.
Initially moving to Southern California as a football coach at Los Angeles Valley College, Brown became involved with the Goossen family’s first promotional company: Ten Goose Boxing, working as a matchmaker for their events at the Reseda Country Club.
As Vice President at Goossen Promotions, Brown deftly guided the careers of many world champions including U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists, David Reid(1996) and Andre Ward (2004) in addition to working with World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson.
Brown was also responsible for the resurgence of boxing legend and future Hall of Famer, James Toney starting in 2002.
Most recently the work of Brown has brought to prominence; former world champions Paul Williams and Rico Ramos in addition to highly ranked contenders Chris Arreola, Vanes Martirosyan, John Molina Jr, and Josesito Lopez along with numerous top young prospects including Olympians and twin brothers, Javier and Oscar Molina.
Brown’s work has received a wealth of accolades from industry insiders and media worldwide. The NABF has lauded his work many times, bestowing their matchmaker of the year award upon him six times. [1]
