In 1940 Harold Dade won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of champions at flyweight by decision vs. Gene Evans. In 1941 he won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of champions at flyweight by decision vs. Paul Carbetta, he was also made the final of the National AAU at flyweight in Boston winning the semi-final vs. Tony Peppi with the verdict in the final being awarded to Larry Torpey of Philadelphia, PA.
