Michael Dominguez won the 1981 New York Golden Gloves 132lb Open Championship. Dominguez stopped(RSC-1) Pat Cutaneo in the finals to win the Championship. In 1980 Dominguez was defeated by Jesus Serrano in the finals of the 132lb Open Championship and in 1978 Dominguez lost in the finals of the 126lb Open division to Richard Flores. Dominguez trained at the Solar Sporting Club in New York City. Representing New York in 1981 he won the 132 lb. Intercity Golden Gloves' championship.
