Faught nationally and internationally as professional boxer.

Trained numerous fighters including the kickboxer/mixed-martial-arts competitor Mark Hunt who went on to become a household name in Japan winning the world kickboxing GP known as "K1", in Tokyo Dome. Also took Peter Graham to Japan for K1.

Made a return to the ring in a knock-out tournament in Melbourne, Australia. This was the qualifying tournament for the Oceania region of the K1 World GP(A middleweight version known as K1 MAX) Alex placed 3rd losing only to the eventual tournament winner.
