Former feather and lightweight top contender in early 70`s, better known as "Chamaco" Ortiz. Born in Chixchulub, Pueblo, a small town where other great yucatecan boxer Vicente Pool, three times beaten by legendary Miguel Canto, was born. Ortiz fought many, many times along his life all around Mexico and the States. Managed to be one of the three best superfeatherweights of the world according to Ring magazine, but never got the chance to dispute the world belt. Now into the new century he has three children who continue the dinasty of the "Chamaco" (kid in english). Their names are Rafael "Chamaco II", Silverio jr. "Chamaco III" and Alci Chamaco IV". There is a very funny detail about his carreer in the 60`s when he was fighting "Zurdo" Aparecido who hanging himself in the ropes with his arms, kicked his belly causing an inmediate disqualification in Merida`s bullring, and a real mess because people began fighting themselves furious for this fights end.
