This is from a Boxing Program from Portland, Oregon titled "Fight Dope," dated July 4, 1929-it was a match btween "Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom and Joe Anderson. On the back is a short biography of Joe: from Covington, Kentucky. He first achieved national recognition in a fight at Portland, and had since become a Portland favorite-he even talked of settling out here after he retired. He had been married six years to a wife from Kentucky and they had a boy aged five. A light hearted fighter, he was quoted as saying "I've seen too many punch-drunk boxers and I'm not going to get in their class..." And he was a Clean Lad-no drinking or smoking and worked out constantly. But he lost the fight that night in 10 rounds...
