Paul was involved in a horrific motor vehicle accident at approximately 7am Sunday March 19, 2006 near Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

As at April 5, 2006 he still remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the John Hunter Hospital, New Lambton (suburb of Newcastle).
