  • Padilla was defeated in the finals of the 1985 Heavyweight Novice division by Seamus McDonagh. McDonagh stopped (RSC-2) Padilla to win the Championship.
  • Padilla won the 1986 New York Golden Gloves Heavyweight Novice Championship. Padilla stopped (RSC-2) Mark Wizbicki of the Nassau Police Boys Club in the finals to win the Championship.
  • Padilla advanced to the finals of the 1987 and 1988 Heavyweight Open division and was defeated both times.
  • In 1987 Padilla lost in the finals to Webster Vinson of the New York City Recreation and in 1988 Padilla was defeated in the finals by future Heavyweight Champion Michael Bentt of the New York City Recreation.
