"Performing feats of magic with one of the best lefts exhibited in MSG in many a year, Willie Joyce, of Gary, Ind., chalked up the rubber match today in his series of fisticuffs with Ike Williams, 133 1/4, of Trenton, N.J. Joyce, 136, using his educated left with such skill that it kept Williams befuddled all evening, won a unanimous decision over the 12-round route. Neither of the fighters hit the canvas nor suffered much damage, although Williams seemed on the verge of hearing the birdies sing in the final round when Joyce nailed him with a terrific right to the jaw. He just managed to weather the final barrage and stay on his feet until the bell ended the night's festivities." -International News Service
