Ingemar Johansson knocked out German veteran Hein ten Hoff after 2.35 in the 1st round. From the start it looked like a nice sparring session. The tall ten Hoff threw jabs and rights. Ingemar suddenly just went under one of these series and threw an overhand right which felled the German. Ten Hoff was sitting as the referee counted the 9, got up, but not in time. As Ten Hoff was led to his corner, one could see how shaken he was.
Trivia: In the Swedish TV-documentary "There's only one Ingemar" (2005), Johansson's ex-wife Birgit revealed that the ten Hoff fight was the only one of Ingo's fights she didn't watch.
