In a heavyweight 4 rounder veteran Manfred Ackers from Krefeld, Germany faced the Aruban novice Ireno Werleman. The latter was a hit with the Oslo crowd in August when he KO' d the German Helmut Bellmann in the 1st round. Ackers ( 95 kg ) took the lead in the first two rounds. In the 3rd Werleman ( 85,5 kg ) started to slam in swings. The correspondent for the German paper Box Sport, Otto Heller, wrote acidly: One can of course ponder whether Werleman's blows were in accordance with the rules of boxing or not. A draw would have been better.
