In the June 24, 1995 edition of the Los Angeles Times (found on the Internet), there was an obituary of one Irving Glasser with a headline, COLORFUL BAIL BONDSMAN DIES. According to the obituary, Glasser died Wednesday at his home in West Los Angeles. He had fought as a boxer under the name of Kid "Glasser." He and his brother, Louis, had a bail bonds business in downtown Los Angeles, writing "about ten million dollars of bonds a year" and keeping ten percent. While in business, Glasser was often linked with the noted Los Angeles-based mobster and former boxer, Mickey Cohen.
