"Cecil Shorts of Cleveland, Ohio, won a split decision over Isaac Logart of NY in the 10 round feature bout at St. Nicholas Arena last night. The decision brought a rebellious reaction from the spectators. They hurled cigar butts and other debris into the ring after the decision was announced. After the decision Logart refused to leave the ring until he talked to judge Benny Valgar. He appeared to be berating Valgar for his vote. When he finally left the ring at the officials' orders he continued to gripe at the judges. Logart was effective with his hooks to the body and head. But when he stopped moving, Shorts caught him with long rights to the head." -Associated Press
