New York Golden Gloves Champion

Ishmael Sanders won two New York Golden Gloves Championships. Sanders won the 1988 106lb Novice Championship and the 1990 112lb Open Championship. In 1988 Sanders defeated Angelo Rolon of the Police Athletic League in the finals to win the Championship and in 1990 Sanders defeated Kenneth Mack of the Yonkers Police Athletic League in the finals to win the Championship. Sanders trained at the Boys Club of New York.
