"Mushy Callahan of Chicago was mournfully nursing many bruises Wednesday after losing to Jackie (Kid) Berg, sensational English lightweight, on a TKO in the 10th round of a scheduled 15 round bout. Berg had things his own way all through the fight and administered a terrific beating to the Chicagoan. Callahan's seconds threw a towel in the ring after his nose had been broken and one eye was completely closed. The affair was billed as a 'contest for the junior welterweight title'". -International News Service
