Aaron Wade 164 lbs drew with Jack Chase 163 lbs by PTS in round 10 of 10

  • Date: 1944-08-09
  • Location: Auditorium, Oakland, California, USA
  • Referee: Billy Burke

"Referee Billy Burke, one of the country's best referees despite last night's Auditorium episode, signaled the 'Little Tiger' Wade - Jack Chase 10 round main event a draw after Chase had given his San Francisco opponent a boxing lesson most of the distance. It was a good fight. Not nearly as exciting as their bout here a few weeks ago, but good. Certainly good enough to warrant a return match if the principals and the promotion are willing. Last evening Chase decided to box his way to victory, and a neat bit of boxing he did, too. Sufficiently neat to make Wade miss a flock of punches. Meanwhile, dozens of Chase left jabs parked themselves on the broad nose of Wade. In Little Tiger's behalf it can be said he forced the fight from beginning to end." -Oakland Tribune

  • Unofficial Tribune scorecard - 6-2-2 Chase
