Jack Marshall 188 lbs beat Buddy Scott 182 lbs by UD in round 15 of 15
- Date: 1943-06-10
- Location: Sportatorium, Dallas, Texas, USA
- Referee: Sully Montgomery
- Attendance: 3,000
- Texas State Heavyweight Title (vacant)
Marshall, 188, was six pounds heavier that Scott and as the fight went on he showed that he had more stamina. His better physical condition, in fact, was the probable reason for winning the fight, as Scott was obviously tiring before the 15th round was over.
Until near the end of the match, the two title contenders fought on fairly even terms. Nobody was knocked down, and nobody tried to avoid a fight. Marshall and Scott stood up and slugged. Both of them had cuts on their left eyes in the first five rounds.
