Jack Reddick beat Ray Mitchell by KO in round 6 of 15

  • Date: 1923-08-04
  • Location: Grand Theatre, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

  • In the presence of a disappointingly small crowd at the Grand Theatre, Saturday night, Jack Reddick, of Moose Jaw, knocked out Ray Mitchell, of Milwaukee, in the sixth round in what was billed as a fifteen-round middleweight go.

With the exception of the first round, which was fairly even, there was nothing to it but Reddick. He pummeled Mitchell almost at will and had him groggy a couple of times before administering the coup de grace in the sixth.

Reddick is no whirlwind boxer, but appeared to be in excellent condition, in this respect having a big edge on Mitchell though the latter was a hog for punishment and stayed with it gamely until as long as he could.

The blow that finally put Mitchall away seemed but a light tap, being merely the "last straw."
