"Jack Sharkey, 198, former heavyweight champion, nursed defeat today at the second milestone on the comeback road as a result of his 10-round defeat by Tony Shucco, Boston Italian. The former champion showed flashes of his former boxing skill, but tossed away all chances of victory by coasting through the first five rounds. The judge's decision was unanimous. Tony, 181 1/2, held his own during a cautious first round, then took the next four by determined jabbing to the head and long-range punching. Sharkey opened up in the 6th with a vicious left that shook Shucco, and pounded over several hard lefts to take the 7th, 8th and 9th, but Shucco carried the 10th with a stinging left-handed attack." -Associated Press
