Jacob E. Hall, P.E., L.S., 88, New Palestine, IN passed away on October 17, 2023. He was born on April 23, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN. His parents were William Reese and Mary Pauline Reese.
Jacob attended Arsenal Technical High School graduating in 1953. He was a 1960 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying in the State of Indiana. He had also played varsity baseball for Purdue. Over the years, he had earned the respect of his colleagues through his dedication and hard work, as well as found time to serve his community through donating his time to church and other philanthropic causes. Jacob Hall married Gloria Ginn on August 25, 1956.
Jacob was proud to serve as the president of United Consulting Engineers and also was instrumental in the start of United Surveying. He was a member and served in various leadership roles of the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors, American Congress of Surveying and Mapping, Association of Boxing Commissions, Indiana Constructors, Inc., Consulting Engineers of Indiana, Ransburg YMCA, Indiana Boxing Commission, Mass Transportation Authority of Marion County, Metropolitan Thoroughfare Authority of Marion County, Indiana Department of Transportation, Indiana Golden Gloves and The Indianapolis Local Public Improvement Bond Bank. Jacob was a past recipient of the following awards: Indiana Constructors, Inc.- Associate of the Year, Consulting Engineers of Indiana - President's Award, Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors - Surveyor of the year (Twice), Ransburg YMCA - Man of the Year and Volunteer of the Year, Consulting Engineers of Indiana - Consulting Engineer of the Year, Indiana Golden Gloves - Fred DeBoard Award of Excellence. Jacob also received the Distinguished Sagamore of the wabash award from Governor O'Bannon.
