Jake LaMotta 164 lbs beat Tommy Yarosz 164 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Jake LaMotta, fighting in spurts and starts, carved out a unanimous 10 round decision over game Tommy Yarosz of Monaca, Pa., tonight in a savage bout that thrilled a small crowd. Jake handed out the most punishment with a fierce body attack. He also opened cuts around both of Yarosz' eyes, but Yarosz, a dancing master, stabbed him at will and opened a cut under the Bronx veteran's left eye in the 8th with an overhand right. Yarosz was dropped for a no-count in the 1st round by a left hook that LaMotta threw out of a crouch. He staggered Tommy with a right to the head but did not inflict serious damage. Through the early milling, with the exception of that one flurry, it was Yarosz jabbing with his left and crossing with his right to Jake's head. Yarosz went out winging in the last round and was out-punching Jake at the final bell in a flurry that brought the crowd to its feet." -Associated Press
