Jamal Parram’s amateur record is approximately 176-24, winning nearly every local tournament.
- Silver Glove Nationals: Parram took two silver medals at the Silver Glove Nationals, in 1999 and 2000. In his first Junior Olympics, he won a Bronze medal. He lost to Abner Mares in the quarter finals in 2001, qualifying for another bronze medal.
- National PAL: Fighting in the National PAL in 2002 semi-finals, he again lost to Mares in a close match, taking home another bronze.
- National PAL Open Men’s League: In 2003, Parram fought in the National PAL Open Men’s League, against the best fighters in the country and Rasheem Jefferson beat him in a close decision.
- Olympic Trials: In the Eastern Olympic Trials, 2004, at 119 lbs., Parram took home the Silver Medal at age 18. Kevin Hubbins beat him in that qualifying match.
