- Boswell was doing a good job early, outboxing the former WBO heavyweight title challenger Jameel McCline.
- McCline turned the fight around with a solid right uppercut to the chin late in the ninth round which Boswell never seemed to recover from. In the corner he seemed exhausted.
- A rejuvenated McCline came out quickly in the 10th and decked Boswell with a vicious four-punch combination at 0:27. After going down, Boswell attempted to stay away, threw no punches, and clinched incessantly until the referee had seen enough at 2:07.
- McCline was behind on two scorecards 86-85 at the time of stoppage.
