Irish James Moore, of Wicklow, Ireland, now fighting out of New York City, scored a eight round unanimous decision over comebacking Lloyd Joseph of Freeport, New York. Joseph appeared ring rusty, while Moore was more aggressive in the early rounds, though he missed alot of power shots. Joseph resorted to throwing one punch and then grabbing and holding along the ropes or at center ring, and the bout turned into an ugly nineteenth century style bout with mostly wrestling and little boxing. This strategy helped Joseph survive the bout, but not the scorecards. Joseph tried boxing in the final round, but by that point Moore had built up an insurmountable points lead. A partisan hometown New York City Irish crowd spent the entire bout singing Irish limericks.
