"James 'Quick' Tillis, 206, says he's looking forward to fighting Mike Weaver for his WBA heavyweight title. Tillis won a possible shot at Weaver for the title when he knocked out South American and Argentinian champion Domingo D'Elia, 201, in the 4th round of their scheduled 12-round fight Thursday night. Tillis and D'Elia - who was fighting in the U.S. for the first time, never had seen each other in action, and they seemed to be feeling each other out during the first three rounds. But Tillis took charge in round four, flooring the Argentinian with two rights before knocking him to the canvas a third and final time with a left-right combination. The referee stopped the fight and declared it a knockout under the three-knockdown rule." -Associated Press
- On the undercard, Mike Rossman fought Chicago's Luke Capuano in a 10-rounder.
