Swedish heavyweight Jan Holmqvist debuted in a 4 rounder against German trial horse Manfred Ackers. The German was quite good in the first two rounds. By then the Swede Holmqvist had figured him out and outboxed Ackers over the last two rounds, being much faster than the slow moving veteran.

Holmqvist had another win the next year, then retired.
