Janusz Gortat (born November 5, 1948 in Rawa Mazowiecka) is a retired boxer from Poland, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1972. In both tournaments he won the bronze medal in the light heavyweight division (– 75 kg), in 1976 (Montreal) after being defeated in the semifinals by eventual winner Leon Spinks of the United States. Father of Marcin Gortat, a professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards.[1]
