• Simpson down at 2:12 and out from a left hook to the temple. He did attempt to grab for the ropes to get up, but was badly dazed. After a brief count, referee Mike Ortega waved an end to the bout. Simpson remained down in the ring for some time and was eventually carried out by stretcher. He was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital where he was later released after checking out ok.[1]
