  • Pagara carries a 4-0 (2 KOs) record against Indonesians and a record of 8-0 (5 KOs) against non-Filipino opponents coming into the fight.
  • Sumba enters the fight 1-1 (0 KO) against non-Indonesian fighters and 0-1 outside his native Indonesia. This will also be the first time he fights in the Philippines, as well as the first time he fights a Filipino fighter.

Bout Summary

  • Pagara came out aggressive, looking to land combinations and power punches to start Round 1. Sumba threw punches occasionally but not enough to discourage Pagara from coming forward. Then, near the end of the round, after Sumba attempted a left hook, Pagara threw a quicker, stronger left hook himself, a punch that Sumba did not saw coming. The punch landed right on the chin of Sumba and he fell like a tree. Referee Tony Pesons finished his ten-count at 2:53 of Round 1. Following the fight, Pesons was criticized for administering the ten-count as it was obvious that Sumba wouldn't have been able to get up.
  • With the win, Pagara gets his 13th straight win and his fourth straight by knockout since his first and only loss more than 3 years ago. With the fight ending at 2:53 of Round 1, this becomes the earliest knockout loss to date for Sumba in his now 22-fight career.
