Jerry Quarry 187 lbs lost to Eddie Machen 193 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Eddie Machen, 193, Berkeley, Calif., from the outset, seemed to hold Jerry Quarry, 187, Bellflower, Calif., and his vaunted left hook in disdain and occasionally smirked, smiled and even laughed at his rather awkward young opponent. Quarry, apparently knowing he was behind, went all out in the 10th round, abandoning his retreating style. But he encountered much more than he could handle as Machen quickly took charge and had Jerry in distress before the fight ended. The decision was unanimous and Machen paraded around the ring even before the verdict was announced." -Associated Press
