"Ernie Schaaf, Boston, battered out a decision over lanky Jim Braddock, of Jersey City, last night, in a 10 round feature. Making his first major heavyweight appearance here since quitting the light heavyweight ranks, Braddock tossed his ponderous but dangerous right hand with all the abandon that made him the terror of the lesser lights in the smaller division, but he could not hit Schaaf consistently. Braddock, scaling only 180 1/2 pounds, was no match for Schaaf's 198 1/2 pounds at close quarters." -Associated Press
