U.S. Veteran James Gregory Cabbler, known as J.C. and Coach, 74, of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born January 1, 1943, to the late Hal and Connie Bell Pannell Cabbler. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Prentest, Earnest, Herbert, Donald and Alfred Cabbler; two sisters Dorothy Cabbler Basham and Ruby Ora Ann Cabbler.
After receiving his education in the Roanoke City Public School System, he served his country faithfully in the United States Army. He was the Manager and boxing trainer at Champ's Gym, and worked in the family restaurant businesses.
