"Eddie 'Bossman' Jones of San Diego isn't worried anymore. He's a winner looking to the WBA to better his 9th place light heavyweight ranking. Jones, who pounded out a unanimous decision over Jimmy Dupree of New York Monday night, was worried before the fight. But Jones forgot his plan and pelted the bewildered New Yorker for the next nine rounds. The methodical thrashing got underway early in the 2nd round when the 'Bossman' delivered a powerful left hook to Dupree's jaw. Dupree, stunned, almost gawking at his assailant, backed off with blood oozing from his mouth. Dupree made a last ditch effort in the 10th to floor the powerful Jones, but ended up taking more punishment." -Associated Press
