"Jimmy Dupree, 175, Newark, N.J., No. 2 light heavyweight, unleashed a vicious attack to chill Eddie (Red Top) Owens, 175 1/2, Holyoke, in the 3rd round. Dupree wasted little time getting started and had Owens in trouble before the first heat was over. Owens tried to offset Dupree's attack by staying in close and punching to the body. In the 2nd round, Owens scored with some nifty combinations but was hurt by body shots. Owens was caught coming in midway through the 3rd round with a hard left-right combination to the head. They were quicky followed by a terrific right to the body that dropped Owens for the night." -Ring Magazine, November 1970 issue
