Harris was an early Cincinnati featherweight rival of World champion Freddie Miller. Harris gave Miller two tough fights in December 1927 at Fort Thomas, with Miller being the consensus winner of the first one, while Harris had the edge in the second one. The two met three more times in the summer of 1928, with Miller having improved as a fighter winning a newspaper decision and two official decisions over Harris.
Harris' real name was Harry M. Harris. After his career he worked as a welder for the Globe Wernicke. Co., retiring around 1964. He died at the age of 63, after suffering a heart attack at home.
