"Jimmy Heair put Arturo Leon down with a left hook near the end of the 2nd round but that was his last moment of brilliance in the fight. Leon, billed as the lightweight champion of Arizona, worked from a classical upright stance and was so much quicker than Heair that he was able to say hello and goodby before Jimmy could answer the call. In the final round both men came out throwing all they had left, but Leon was able to avoid Heair's desperate swings while scoring with machine gun combinations. Heair wasn't able to counter-punch with Leon and didn't initiate an attack of his own aside from an occasional right-hand lead." -Long Beach Press-Telegram
