"Unbeaten Jimmy Heair, Glendale, Calif., scored a 2nd round knockout over Rene 'Mochila' Morgan of Mexico City in their scheduled 10 rounder opening the card at the Forum. The hard-hitting Heair floored his rival with a hard left hook early in the 2nd round and finished him off in 2:46 with a solid right to the chin. Heair took a smashing right to the chin as he moved forward but it had no effect and he proceeded to demolish the more experienced Morgan. Morgan bloodied Heair's nose in the 1st round and rocked him several times but Heair rallied in the last 30 seconds and had his opponent wobbly at the bell." -Pasadena Star-News
