Jimmy McLarnin 138 lbs lost to Ray Miller 132 lbs by RTD in round 7 of 10

"The KO reign of Jimmy McLarnin, baby-faced walloper from Los Angeles, ended tonight when Ray Miller of Chicago TKO'd him in the 7th round of their 10 round battle. McLarnin, foremost challenger for the world's lightweight championship, bloody and groggy, failed to answer the bell when it clanged for the start of the 8th round. He sat in a corner, a pathetic figure, while his seconds tossed a towel into the ring as a token of defeat. It was the first knockout ever recorded against him. Miller, a Chicago youth with a devastating punch in either hand, gave McLarnin an unmerciful beating." -Associated Press

  • Odds prior to this bout were 3-1 that Miller wouldn't even finish the fight.
