"Jimmy 'Baby Face' McLarnin of Vancouver evened matters with Ray Miller of Chicago by handing his former conqueror a thorough lacing before a record crowd of nearly 25,000 in MSG tonight. Miller belied reports of his prowess as a KO artist by holding and wrestling throughout most of the bout, covering up and giving the eager little Irishman practically no chance to fight. When they did exchange blows, it was McLarnin who forced the fighting, driving his opponent about the ring and forcing him to dive into a clinch. Miller won only the 8th round and was warned repeatedly for hitting low. A stricter referee than Eddie Forbes might have disqualified him. Both fighters were jeered as they left the ring, although in justice to McLarnin it must be said that he was in there trying all the time. The decision of the referee and the two judges was unanimous in favor of McLarnin." -United Press
