"Eighth-ranked Jimmy Robertson, Harbor City, scored a 3rd round knockout over Len Kesey, Eugene, Oregon, Thursday night at the Olympic Auditorium. Robertson bloodied Kesey's nose in the 1st round and knocked him down twice in the 2nd with left hooks to the chin and body. In the 3rd, Robertson put Kesey down twice again with left hooks. Robertson drove the reeling Kesey into the ropes and was battering the helpless boxer when referee Ernie Fierro stopped the bout with one minute remaining." -United Press International
