Bout Summary

A left hook in the first seconds of Round 1 put Pabon down on one knee. He was up quickly and action continued. Guzman spent much of the remainder of the opening round looking to size up his over-matched opponent and land a single big knockout punch. Guzman was warned in the final seconds of the round for holding behind the head while punching. Guzman controlled the second round highlighted by his work to the body. Pabon went down for the second time in the bout in Round 3 from a right hand to the body preceded by a right hand to the side of the head. He was again up quickly. Pabon was ruled down for a third time midway through Round 4 likely as much from being off balance as a result of any punch. Guzman clowned and showboated most of Round 6, as Pabon was deducted 1 point for excessive holding. Guzman switched to southpaw in Round 8 and caught Pabon with a straight right followed by a big left hook on the button that sent Pabon straight to the mat and flat on his back. He attempted to get to his feet but was unable to do so.
