Calder was a Filipino boxer in the Pacific Northwest from 1926 to 1938. He was very popular in Seattle as a club fighter, where he boxed out Lonnie Austin's stable. He reached the peak of his career in 1932, when he won the Pacific Northwest Featherweight Tile in February 1932, defeating Jackie Caston for the title. This was probably his most significant victory as a professional. He held the title for close to eighteen months. He faced off against Andy Bundy and Abie Israel, the two top Northwest featherweights of this period. He failed to defeat either man, and faded into trial-horse status after that. Calder resided in Southern California after his boxing career ended, dying in Monterey Park, California in 1963.
