Joe Fox, of Hebrew heritage, won both the British bantamweight and featherweight titles. Fox was an outright Lonsdale Belt Winner as U.K. bantamweight champion. He was brought to the United States by George McDonald. Fox fought extensively in the United States and Canada getting in the ring with the best bantamweights and featherweights in the world during the three trips he made to North America. Fox was arguably the most talented fighter to come out of Leeds in the first twenty years of the 20th Century. Fox was described by the leading UK boxing trainer of the 1910's and 1920's Jack Goodwin "as the cleverest fighter he ever trained." [1]

Most of Fox's fights in the UK is courtesy of Miles Templeton. [2]
