    Joseph Gans, the champion light-weight colored pugilist of Maryland, defeated Fred. Sweigart in ten rounds at the Monumental tournament room last night. Gans is an expert sparrer and Sweigart an expert receiver general. The gloves were big, and though Gans landed five times as many blows as Sweigart the latter did not appear to be at all discouraged.
