At the Avon Club last night Joseph Gans, colored, 124 1/2 pounds, sparred six rounds with Travis Brown, 134 pounds. Gans got the decision. Brown proved his ability to take much punishment. Gans, who is the most scientific sparer of his race and color in Maryland, could not put Brown out.
