• 1937 Joe Kelly of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania won the Diamond Belt And the Mid-Atlantic AAU in Philadelphia over Johnny Morgan and he also won the combined New York Daily News Golden Gloves' open championship / (Inaugural of) New York Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions over George Henry and the National AAU by ko in the 2nd vs. Frank Mirabile of Albany, NY, all were in the lightweight division.
