"Jorge Rodriguez, 129, handed Joe Medrano, 127, the most lop-sided defeat seen at the Olympic Auditorium in years Thursday night. The fight started even, with Rodriguez getting the edge in the 1st round. But he was dropped in the 2nd when Medrano caught him with a left hook coming off the ropes. Medrano went all out to try to finish Rodriguez but couldn't land the big punch before the bell. From that point, it was all Rodriguez, fighting in wild flurries, throwing every punch like it was a hay-day. Medrano was knocked down twice in the 7th and once again in each of the remaining rounds. The amazing part was how Medrano managed to get up after each knockdown and continue." -Pasadena Star-News
